Crossfield Wind Farm
Project Overview
Capstone Infrastructure Corporation (Capstone) is proposing to develop and construct the Crossfield Wind Farm (the Project), a wind generation facility of up to 110 MW in the Municipality of Chatham-Kent.
Ontario’s electricity sector is seeing growing demand and the Province, through the Independent Electricity System Operator (IESO), is planning to undertake large-scale resource acquisition to ensure sufficient supply will be available into the 2030s and beyond.
The Project is in the initial early phase of development. We are seeking to engage in meaningful, early consultation with the community in advance of submitting a proposal to the IESO and potentially securing a contract.
Project Updates
September 5, 2025 - Preliminary Project Layout
As noted in the notice of community information session the project area has been reduced, and is now located in Ward 3 (East Kent), North of Ridgetown and East of Highgate. We are proposing up to 18 turbines for a project nameplate capacity of up to 110 MW.
We have prepared a preliminary project layout for early engagement purposes. We would like to highlight that the project has not yet commenced the permitting process, and the layout is subject to future changes.
In addition, a Frequently Asked Questions document has been prepared in response to feedback, questions, and comments received over our Summer 2025 project engagement efforts.

We welcome your feedback and thoughts on the layout as we share this information to promote understanding of project plans.
Capstone is pleased to invite you to a Community Information Session on Monday September 8th in Blenheim to learn about our company and the proposed Crossfield Wind Farm. This will be the second information session for the project following the June 26th event.
